Based in Interlochen, Michigan, this bike group meets every other week, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday evening. Sometimes we bike, other times we hike.* This is a rec group. We don’t go for speed, we go to burn off mozz cheese sticks. I lead this group of hardy souls through the wilds of the Michigan forests and back to the gravel parking lot (or, occasionally, a winery) to rehash our survival.
*In the winter, we momentarily and magically covert to a snowshoe club.
Lead by Kandace Chapple, owner of Michigan Girl… a little about me… As a freelance writer with most of my publication credits revolving around surviving, hiking, and biking around Northern Michigan’s forests, I love to be outside. I have completed the Iceman Cometh Bike Challenge – the largest point-to-point mountain bike race in the US – eight times with 5,000 other riders – managing to not podium ever, not even close. BUT I have accomplished my life-long bike dream: by starting a women’s bike (and hike!) group for the funny, fab, and not-so-fast! Please consider joining us!
